My First Personal Blog Post
A few years ago, I picked up reading (and it's going well). This year, 2025, I've set myself a new personal goal: improving my writing skills.
Why writing? Because I want to bundle two things:
- Structure my thoughts better through writing.
- Improve my communication skills.
I admire people who communicate and engage audiences effortlessly — like Vusi Thembekwayo. I've seen such great communicators on YouTube, at conferences, and even at dinner tables. Recently, I realized my dad is actually a great communicator too; he knows how to engage people in conversation. I should ask him where he learned this skill.
I often find myself asking:
- How do they do it?
- Does culture influence communication?
- Do they know they inspire "poor communicators" like me?
Tony Robbins once said: "To effectively communicate, we must realize that we are all different in the way we perceive the world and use this understanding as a guide to our communication with others."
